Namaste, From BhaktaMama

Namaste and Welcome

As we rise and fall on the mat, moving through the undulations of asanas so too do we experience the ups and downs of Life. This is an honest space of sharing; a little contribution in uncovering the path to the union of body, head, heart, and Spirit.

A simplified path to a holistic lifestyle – a philosophy of well-being that considers the physical, mental, intellectual and spiritual aspects of life as closely interconnected and balanced – is an integral part of this blog and together with Parenthood, self-development, Yoga, Ayurveda and “natural” self-care are the parts that make up the whole of this blog.

I am always learning from people, books, experiences – anyone and anywhere that hold a lesson. However, there are certain authorities which I stand by for guidance on certain aspects of this blog and will reference due to their credibility. Professor P. Krishna and works of Krishnamurti on Holistic Living, the sacred texts of the Hindu Vedas on Eternal Living Principles, Dr. Shefali Tsabary’s body of knowledge on Conscious Parenting provides the context of parenting modus operandi.

By vocation, I am a socio-cultural anthropologist, however, my sole subject matter this past while has been my son Rocky. He has been and is my greatest teacher, my Guru since the womb-home. I have cultivated a love for mamas and dadas and in sharing my experiences I hope some parent somewhere feels a little more understood, a little more supported, incredibly loved so that we can strive to thrive in the other aspects of our lives.

Oh and Bhaktamama? Bhakta in Sanskrit means devotee. Mama, well that refers to that feminine Grace – mother nature, mother earth but of course the journey of parenthood includes let’s say a colorful array of emotions on both ends of the spectrum!

Join me on Wellness Wednesdays talking holistic living, Ayurveda, Yoga and natural self-care SoulShare Sundays talking parenthood and self-development.

Welcome to my hive, my pen and paper, my kitchen, my head, and heart.  I hope this space serves a purpose to you on your expedition through life in some meaningful way.

  May we learn together!

Love,

Bhaktamama
